Match Result: Rayleigh won by 5 wickets.

Captains Comments:

Bluehouse once again won the toss and elected to bat on slightly damp, but drying wicket. Bluehouse started slowly, however thanks to an excellent knock of 94 from John Walsh managed to reach a respectable score of 185 for 6 off their 45 overs.

In reply Rayleigh got off to a good start and were always ahead of the run-rate and, despite an excellent spell of bowling from Jack Neville 3 for 14 off his 12 overs, cruised home with an over to spare.

Overall, whilst Bluehouse probably didn't score enough runs, some pretty poor bowling (led by the skipper) backed up by a woeful fielding display meant that Bluehouse were always playing catch up. There will need to be significant improvements in all areas of our game if we are to mount any sort of challenge in this division.
