Bluehouse lost the toss and were put into bat on a damp wicket.
After a slow start Dale
Gutteridge upped the tempo by scoring a quick (26) but was dismissed by Borehams
opening pace bowler P. Burgess (12-2-25-2). Steve Carter also scored some
quick runs adding (24) to the total but Bluehouse continued to lose batsmen
at regular intervals. Boreham bowled very well to restrict an in form
Bluehouse team at one stage the scoreboard was showing 109-6 but the tail wagged
with Del Freeman scoring (30*) and Simon Carter (10) in the final overs ending Bluehouse's batting
on 156-9. With only
156 runs on the board Bluehouse needed early wickets and after only 3 overs
bowled Boreham were 2-3 thanks to some excellent seem bowling by Simon
Carter (12-3-30-5). Bluehouse continued to apply the pressure with Carter
and Freeman finishing there opening spells with Boreham struggling on
36-3 after 18 overs. Bluehouse continued to bowl well picking up wickets at
regular intervals through Dale Gutteridge (10-2-37-2) and Jason McGarry
(9-2-36-2) but Borehams tail supported T. Money (50*) through to the 45th
over with Boreham requiring just 4 to win up stepped Jason McGarry to bowl
the final over only conceding 3 runs and taking a wicket with the final
delivery of the game leaving the match in a tie.
Bluehouse had their chances
to win this game but for 5 drop catches and some poor fielding at times,
things will have to improve next week when Bluehouse visit league leaders
Eastwood 2's. |
