After losing the toss yet
again!! Bluehouse put into bat on what seemed to be a good surface.
Broomfield openers Menon & Goodchild applied the early pressure restricting
the blues to just 13 off the first 10 overs. Menon forced the break through
in the 13th over removing Rob Farley for 9. Stuart Lynch then joined his
brother Richard at the crease continuing his good form with the bat scoring
26 but more importantly a partnership of 71 to take the scoreboard on to
97-2. Three wickets in the same amount of overs left Bluehouse struggling on
120-5 until Kelvin Hines came to the crease knowing that he had little time
to settle, he added a vital 22 not out in the remaining overs putting on a
unbeaten 57 with Dik. Dik Lynch was key to the Bluehouse total scoring a
well deserved 80 not out on a pitch that had some life in it for the
Bowlers. Bluehouse ended their innings on 177-5
With a defendable total on the
board a good bowling and fielding display was needed but it was not to be,
Del Freeman picked up 4 wickets, along with up and coming youngster James
Farley picking up 2 but we could not hold on to our catches and in the end
Broomfield achieved their target with 9 overs to spare. |
