Bluehouse won the toss and
elected to bat. After losing an early wicket to a dubious NO BALL the blues
soon found their feet with R. Lynch making 30 in good time including a rare
6 a real collectors piece. S. Lynch carried on his excellent form with the
bat top scoring with 65. R. E. Hunt also showed he could still find the
boundary with a well earned 50*. Also good knocks from T. Gregory with a
quick fire 25 and J. McGarry kept the tempo going with 21, T. Wildes also
chipped in with a valuable 15.
With 237 on the scoreboard and
some light drizzle at the start of Boreham innings the blues knew they needed
to take quick wickets both openers T. Gregory (9-1-34-1) and J. Nevill
(9-2-16-3) did not disappoint and N. Poole took a great catch to get things
going but it was not to be. The Boreham batsmen decided they could not
continue in the drizzle and the match was abandoned.
A moral victory for the
blues who were in command all day perhaps in hindsight we should have bowled
first!!! |
