Bluehouse
lost the toss and were required to field first, after 7 overs the score read
40 for 0 and it looked like a long day in the field ahead. Then opening
bowlers K. Benson and B. Deasy found their range dismissing batsmen at
regular intervals to swing the game back in Bluehouse’s favour. Change
bowlers D. A. Freeman and B. Hutton finished what the openers had started
leaving James Farley to take the final wicket with his first ball. Five and
Heronians took early wickets and at 37 for 3 B. Deasy came to the crease to
enjoy a partnership of 37 with opener K. Hines. Both these batsmen had been
dismissed with the score on 82 and with no recognized batting to come it was
left to K. Benson & D. A. Freeman to produce an impressive defensive batting
display which required 11 overs to score the 28 runs for victory. |
